Statutory Compliance

All commercial leases invariably place an obligation on the Tenant to comply with Acts of Parliament, Regulations and Bye-Laws.  This is an ongoing requirement, of particular significance in longer leases where legislative reform will demand the Tenant’s careful, and continuous, observation.  Obvious statutory issues in recent years include asbestos, fire safety and certification of gas and electrical installations.  Recent changes to the Building Regulations also influence certain works where the Tenant may propose to modify the demised fabric of the building.

We work closely with Landlords and Tenants to ensure statutory compliance when premises are let and vacated.
